- Dr Haitham Yaish
Dr Haitham Yaish is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, University of Wollongong in Dubai. He has a PhD in Information Systems.
Dr Haitham has been involved in teaching both Bachelor and Master programs. His teaching style is in utilizing the theory that he studied during his Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees with the 17 years IT industry experience that gained by working in the Middle East and Australia. He is teaching his students theory and practice, and supporting them with real examples from IT industry. His teaching philosophy assists in the educational process, helps in understanding the educational materials, helps in increasing the learning outcomes, and helps students in achieving high improvements in academic studies, activities, projects, and research.
His research interests include Cloud Computing, Multi-tenant database, Software as a Service (SaaS), Advanced database applications, Database as a Service (DaaS), Database Security and Access Control, Big Data, Multi-tenant applications, E-commerce, and Machine Learning.
Dr Haitham was awarded as supervising the best research Project titled Food Ingredients Scanner at the first Ajman University Students’ Research Day held at Ajman University on 2nd of May 2018.
Dr Haitham has been in the field of Information technology, and the field of teaching since 1999. Prior to joining UOWD, He worked for various universities, including Higher Colleges of Technology, Emirates Aviation University, Abu Dhabi School of Management, Ajman University, American University of the Middle East, Melbourne Institute of Technology, and the University of Technology Sydney.
On the other hand, Dr Haitham worked in several roles in the IT industry of Australia and the Middle East, including Strategic Planning Director, Senior Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Senior Software Engineer, Senior Systems Developer, Software Developer, and Systems Programmer.
