Fee

  • Full course fees must be paid in advance. Students are enrolled once their full fees are paid.
  • A late fee of AED 100 will be charged when fees are not paid in full by the due date (see below).

Fee Transfers and Refunds

  • Applications for fee transfers or refunds must be in writing and with accompanying documentation addressed to the Head, Centre for Language and Culture.
  • Students will only receive a refund or fee transfer under exceptional circumstances, such as a medical emergency, and at the discretion of the Head, Centre for Language and Culture.
  • Any approved refund will be paid only to the applicant and in the local currency.
  • Students recommencing after an absence will pay the scheduled fees for the course at the time of recommencement, if the fee structure has changed.
  • There is no refund on transferred fees. Transferred fees must be used within the following two (2) terms from the date of transfer.
  • Transfers after the start of the term are subject to the refund fee schedule below.
  • Transfers are not possible for Summer Program Students on a UOWD Visa, however the refund policy is as shown below.

If a student provides written notification of withdrawal from a course, fee refund may be made as follows:

Fee Refund Schedule – English & Arabic Language Programs
Before the start of a term Full refund less a 10% administrative fee for one term
of study only
First 2 weeks of the term 50% refund of current term and full refund of prepaid future terms less a 10% administrative fee for one term
of study only
After week 3 of the term No refund of current term and full refund of prepaid future terms less 10% course fee administrative charge for one term of study only
Refund Schedule – CELTA
14 days prior to start of the course May apply for a transfer to next course, or full refund less a 10% administrative fee
After start of the course No refund of any portion of the fees

Students who have been either suspended or excluded from the University for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for refund of tuition fees either in part or in full.

Appeals
Student may appeal the decision of the Head, Centre for Language and Culture with regards to refund or transfer requests in writing to the Vice President Administration in the first instance. In the event of an unsatisfactory outcome of this appeal the student may then appeal in writing to the President with full documentation of previous interactions.
