Office of Institutional Effectiveness

The University of Wollongong in Dubai has established this office as part of the continuing evolution of its commitment to ensuring quality educational opportunity in the UAE. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) plays an important role in developing and managing the information architecture within the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD).

The functions of the office relate to the collection, collation and dissemination of a variety of data that can be used by the University, its committees, management and Faculties in refining educational programs and administrative units to meet student requirements and institutional goals.

The Office reports directly to the President.

Mission

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) aims to ensure its research, data integrity, analysis, reporting, assurance, continuous improvement and policy development functions are conducted productively and efficiently.

The UOWD mission  to explore, develop and apply human and technological capacity for the benefit of the region, national and international community is supported by the OIE.

The OIE  mission statement is as follows:

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness serves  management, faculty, staff, students and stakeholders by providing data and analyses for decision making, policy development and strategic planning processes throughout the UOWD environment.

Vision

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is dedicated to instilling and promoting the virtues of continuous improvement. Continuous improvement will be enhanced and evidenced by the relevance, accuracy and integrity of the data collected and reported by our office. Continuous improvement will be demonstrated by the comparison of specific key performance indicators over time.

The vision of OIE is as follows:

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is recognised as the integral component contributing to and facilitating the improved performance of UOWD in all areas of academia and administration.

Values

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness will undertake its mission in a transparent, co-operative, collaborative and ethical manner. The work done by OIE will consist of using valid and reliable measures; to generate accurate and timely data, that serves as the foundation of unbiased reporting and accurate analyses.
